Many people are regular or occasional visitors to France. Most struggle to communicate with the French people they meet and resolve to "learn French."
Having bought 'how to' books, dictionaries and phrase books, DVD-based courses and attended classes, they are still not achieving any level of fluency or understanding. They are, naturally, frustrated.
This little book describes some of the writer's own experiences and suggests why their progress may not be as marked, or as fast, as they might like. It recommends an approach based, not solely on learning words, but by observation and immitation.
